How you can get involved in sending shipments to Gambia

We would love more people to get involved and there are a few ways of doing that:

  • By donating (see list below)
  • Helping box the donations
  • Making clothes - My firend made a few dresses without a pattern using shirring elastic (just look for a shirring elastic tutorial on the web). If you can make skirts tops dressses or shorts any size would be great.
  • Asking schools to donate
  • Fund raising - we appreciate that money is very tight and people don't like to give money as its not always seen as being used in the right way but we do need funding to pay for the shipping of the boxes, that is all we need money for to be able to send regular shipments.

God has blessed this work by bringing us into contact with a company who are willing to donate sportswear. Boots 2 Africa have put us in touch with schoold children who collect unwanted boots and kit. We also want to be able to send the following items so will be grateful for any donations of:

Shoes and trainers - for children and grownups

Football boots - all sizes

School equipment - pens/pencils/rubbers/pencil sharpeners/pencil cases. Exercise books/writing pads

Reading books for children (easy reading)

Sock and pants

Please see our Facebook page rossendale.to.gambia to see the pictures of our shipments being given out. Everything is freely given away and all the work is done by volunteers.
