23rd Letter to our Church Members

Dear friends

I pray God is continuing to keep you safe and secure in these strange and changing times.

The last months I know have been so different to what our lives were previously like.

I know some of you have struggled with loneliness, one thing I have missed is not being able to receive comfort from friends with a hug. When we have had issues and challenging situations we have had to deal with them in a very different way.

Some of us have been blessed with being able to devote more time to God, allowing Him to bless us more, just by being available.

For me, one thing I have been sure of is God’s steadfast and present foundation in my life.

And I really needed that assurance on several occasions.

Through challenging times, it can be difficult. By being together, through discussion, it can help us understand and reason. This is to me one of the reasons I have missed fellowship. When we experience setbacks and disappointments, we can lose confidence. But by focusing on God and listening to what He has to say about it, we begin to see beyond temporary setbacks.

One word I have heard a lot recently is fear.

God and His Word provide the only stability in our unstable world.

Jesus tells us that even if the earth passes away, the truth of His Word will never be changed.

Life is full of changes and few things remain stable.

The Israelites were constantly moving through the desert. They were able to handle change only because God’s presence in the tabernacle was always with them. The portable tabernacle signified God and His people moving together. For us stability does not mean lack of change, but moving with God in every circumstance.

The world has changed!

In my daily devotional today, word for today really hit the nail on the head…which it often does!

Forgive and move on.

Luke 9.62

“No one who looks back is fit for service”

By looking back at how things were, you miss the next turn. Focus on the fact that you have survived and that you have learned from your experience. God has kept you around for a reason – find it and pour your life into it.

Believe in yourself – God does!

God alone knows your potential and if you are willing to trust in Him and work hard, He will help you fulfil it.

Our challenge from God is..

Who is the foundation of your faith?

What can you build on that foundation?

How can you build on that foundation?

What gifts has the Holy Spirit given you?

Use those gifts freely given and grow in your faith and love on God

With Love and God’s Blessings
