About Us

“What I like about my church is being a member of the fellowship at Sion Baptist Church and being part of such a loving family – it’s a true blessing!  Everyone who enters my church is made to feel welcome and the love of Jesus surrounds you as you walk through the door.

This love is shared with others in the community when people gather together on a Wednesday morning at Toddler Group and at Coffee Mornings on a Friday.

We have fun and laughter when we come together whilst we learn and understand God’s word to us.

I like my church because it’s where I truly came to realise that God doesn’t just like me ...

HE LOVES ME!!” (Joanne)

Sion is the place where I come to worship God and learn more about him.  I do these things with my church family – and to serve Him – again, with my brothers and sisters...

It is a place where I feel safe, accepted and loved and where I receive support when I need it – and it is a place where I hope I make others feel the same way...” (Jen)

Whilst growing up I attended our local Baptist Church.  Walking into Sion Baptist Church for the first time in 1987 was like coming home. The members here are warm and welcoming. They are my family. I have been blessed and encouraged by their support when experiencing the difficulties and problems we all go through at various times in our lives.

Sharing a confidence with fellow Christians is special. We can talk freely together and pray through our problems guided by our loving God who knows and loves us despite our failings. I am aware that throughout my life God has placed good people in my path and he continues to do so.

Sunday worship at Sion is a privilege, joining with fellow Christians to praise God together. Our Bible Studies are another positive and special time as we discuss and work together to discern what God is saying to us.

...people have an opportunity to enjoy companionship and a time to relax and chat about many issues, even on those matters where we might not agree!

Good times. Hard times. Happy and sad times, here at Sion we can share all things together. Come and join us...” (Ann)

We regularly meet with brothers and sisters in Christ with joyful hearts, giving thanks and singing his praises.

If someone is missing from the Sunday service we will all know and ask if anyone knows the reason. Are they on holiday or are they unwell? Have they been called to other parts of the country to look after grandchildren? Our services and activities provide an opportunity to praise and thank our amazing God all together.

God is good and our Sion family is important to each and every one of us...” (Norman)

"Sion Baptist Church is a great place to be a member of. I know everybody who attends our Church, and it is such a loving small family who have helped me to realize what it means to be a follower of our Lord". (John)
